6.1 Rationale for the Naming of Past Conferences.
An informal series of workshops have been offered over the years.
≻ There have also been two series of conferences and congresses; the
first starting in 1970 was named the International Conference on the
Theory of Positive Disintegration.
When we met in Keystone, CO, in 1994, the group decided to meet every two
years, ideally alternating between a Canadian location and an American
location.
≻ Hence, when I hosted the next conference, held in Alberta in 1996,
I called it the Second Biennial Conference.
⚂ The International Conference Series and the Biennial
Conference Series streams merged in 2002.
⚂ At the meeting in Fort Lauderdale (2002), the group decided
that the two conference series should be merged. It was suggested that in
the future:
⚃ International meetings be referred to as Congresses
⚃ National meetings could be referred to as Conferences and
that;
⚃ Regional meetings be called Workshops.
⚂ International Congresses:
⚃ Sixth–Calgary, Alberta (2004)
⚃ Seventh International Congress–Calgary, Alberta
(2006)
⚃ Eighth International Congress–Canmore, Alberta (2008)
⚃ Ninth International Congress–St. Charles, IL. (2010)
⚃ Tenth International Congress–Denver, CO. (2012)
⚃ Eleventh International Congress–Canmore, Alberta
(2014)
⚃ Twelfth International Congress–Calgary, Alberta

⚃ Thirteenth International Congress–Naperville (2018)
